It all began in March 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Prophet Samson Akilo embarked on a 21-day fast and prayer retreat, seeking God’s guidance on the next step as the world seemed to be at a standstill.

While in retreat at the basement of his father-in-law’s house, the Lord instructed him to start an event called Praise Power, aimed at bringing the body of Christ together to worship God in spirit and truth.
On July 5, 2020, the first Praise Power meeting was held in Atlanta, in obedience to God’s instructions. This gathering took place at Christ Apostolic Church, PowerHouse Atlanta, under the leadership of Prophet Kunle Aroniyo, his spiritual father.

With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, in September 2020, the ministry was led to launch an annual event called FREEDOM—a seven-hour session of undiluted prophetic praise and worship. The first edition of FREEDOM was held in July 2021, and by God’s grace, it has continued as a yearly event.

In 2021, Praise Power Ministry was officially registered as a religious organization in the United States of America, further solidifying its mission to glorify God and unite believers through praise and worship.
